Getting Registered with Tarion
As of September 1, 2016, new applicants for registration proposing to build or sell residential freehold or low-rise condominium construction under Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code will be required to complete seven educational competencies in addition to Tarion’s existing registration requirements. These must be completed before you submit an application to Tarion.
To apply for registration as a vendor and/or builder, download and print an Application for Registration Package and submit the completed application to Tarion. Or you can apply by completing and submitting the application for registration online.
All applicants are required to meet with a Tarion representative for an orientation session and interview so Tarion can assess the applicant's business and construction knowledge and plans.
Some of the application requirements differ depending on whether you are applying as a builder, vendor or vendor/builder and whether you are proposing to build freehold homes or condominium units.
